2021 brings further refinements and natural innovation from Lapierre. The Overvolt 5.5 utilises an Overvolt Supreme Alloy frame to situate the Lapierre Metric damper system & InTube 500Wh Yamaha battery. Optimal comfort and confidence are achieved as a result of an ideal centre of gravity, exaggerated by the mid-situated motor.
To maximise capability on the trails, Lapierre have included RockShox 35 Silver TK Solo Boost forks packing 150mm of travel, which in unison with the frame damper results the harmonious combination of versatility, comfort, and when it comes to pushing your comfort zone, peace of mind! You’ll be rolling on dirt gobbling 29″ Lapierre eAM+, wheels wrapped in chukcy 2.8″ Maxxis High Roller II / Maxxis Rekon+ tyres, making behind the bars of the Overvolt 5.5 a very nice place to be.
Further tailoring your All-Mountain adventure, you can use the 12 Speed Shimano Deore RD-M6100 gearing system to manipulate the trickiest of terrains and conditions. Supported by a razor sharp Shimano MT401 Hydraulic disc brake system, aiding with agility and bike control whether airborn or touched down!

With four cadence sensors in the case, it can deliver power at speeds of more than 100RPM, a limitation of its predecessors. In addition there is the new ‘auto-mode’ that allows you to leave the bike to decide as to the power setting it needs for different terrains. The unit can also detect how much power to deliver when starting so you don’t have wheel spin or pull a wheelie when you pull away. This is all controlled with the Yamaha SideSwitch controller that is discreet and doesn’t show you so many parameters you’re distracted from the job at hand – having a blast on the hills!”
